I’m going to be real with y’all. That is one thing I promise you’ll get from your glow-up bestie.
I’ve been holding on to this site for over a year… and the “Her Glow Up Diary” concept for even longer.
Not because I haven’t glowed up enough. This is a journey after all. But because being seen glowing up, hecck sharing tips about glowing up (when you still have work to do) is scary AF!!!

But after doing a thing this week (sharing with my LinkedIn network a couple of 2026 updates), including my ADHD diagnosis. I figured it’s time to say f*** fear and do it anyway.
The truth is, yes, glowing up is about transformation, but transformation happens when you start doing the thing(s) – though scary – that you know will elevate your life.

It’s not just the physical (working out, eating healthy, learning how to do your makeup), all things that I’ve been working on personally, and still have a lot of work to do on. But it’s the internal shifts as well – going to therapy to address that trauma you’ve been avoiding or finally putting yourself out there like I did on LinkedIn (and am finally doing here.)
So, if you’re truly ready to start the glow-up journey. Here are some things I’ve learned that I hope will encourage you to kick off your glow up journey.
You’ll wish you had started sooner.
Once you get a taste of this new version of you, you won’t understand why you waited so long. Imagine you had gone to therapy two years ago or started working out 6 months ago. And I don’t say that so you can live in regret. I say that so you can understand that the sooner you start, the better. When you start feeling stronger, more emotionally stable, less reactive. You’ll realize that you could’ve been living this life already had you not been so afraid.
Change doesn’t happen overnight.
You’re probably thinking, no duh!! You know this. I know this. But it’s easier said than believed. You know what I mean? Be honest with yourself for a minute. I know what it’s like to think that just because I started eating right, I’m going to be skinty by Friday. I can’t be the only one. True change can take weeks. Maybe even months to appear. It’s not a reason to get weary though. It’s happening even if you can’t see it. One day you’ll wake up and notice the gains it just won’t be day 2, 3, or 4.
People will notice and they may or may not like it.
Tell me who your friends are, and I’ll tell you who you are? Nah, more like glow up, and you’ll see who your friends really are. There’s recently been a video going around on TikTok about a girl expressing jealousy over her friend who’s farther along in life than she is. The two are no longer friends, but the girl explains that it bothered her to see her friend thriving. It’s not to say that everyone will feel like that, but it’s a real dilemma and something you should keep in mind.
At the end of the day, your glow up is for you. It’s about building a life that feels as good as it looks. I’m so excited to be on this journey with you!!
